Clan Chief David Dahn Laid to Rest
On Saturday, May 15, 2019, the remains of the late Gbannah Clan Chief, Hon. David Dahn, was laid to rest at his Flumpa Headquarters. He was given an official funeral as it was attended by high profile government officials, including Superintendent Dorr Cooper, Judge James Geliyenneh, County Inspector Reginald Mehn and myself, the Representative of the District in which Gbannah is situated. Other stakeholders, including Clan and Paramount Chiefs, Senior Citizen Joseph Kiepeeh, also graced the occasion, Several tributes were paid during the funeral; all pointing to the positive imprint he left on the pages of governance in our community.

The 2019 State of the World Population was recently launched by the Vice President of Liberia, Mrs. Jewel Howard-Taylor, at the Monrovia City Hall. This year’s launch also coincided with the commemoration of the 50th and 25th Anniversary of the United Nation Population Fund ( UNFPA ) and the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) respectively.
African Parliamentary Forum Holds Executive Meeting in Vancouver
During the course of the conference, the Executive Committee of the Africa Parliamentary Forum on Population and Development found time to meet. The meeting received briefing from the President of the committee, Hon. Marie Rose Nfuen of Cameroon. She also provided Progress report on the implementation of the Strategic plan of organization. The next agenda of the organization was set to be elaborated on in Nairobi later this year.

This evening, June 3,2019, at the Vancouver Conference Center, the Women Deliver Conference, being hosted in Vancouver, Canada, was officially convened through an opening program.

Between May 22-26, the Law Reform Commission and the Independent Human Rights Commission, in collaboration with partners (UNDP; Office of the High Commission on HUMAN RIGHTS and UN WOMEN), convened a workshop on creating the Roadmap for Law Reform in Liberia. participants were drawn from the Ministry of Justice, Civil Society and the Legislature.

This is a quick impact project that I promised the people of Lao and Zahn people ( i.e Meinpea-Mah) during my tour in that part of my District early this year.
