Hon. Younquoi Attends Two-day Law Reform Round Table Dialogue

On October 10-11, 2019, a high level meeting on Law Reform in Liberia was held in the Port City of Buchanan in Grand Bassa County.  Participants came from the Law Reform Commission; Independent National Commission on Human Rights ( INCHR); Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC);  Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection and the Liberian Legislature; the Association of Female Lawyers  of Liberia ( AFELL), among others. The meeting was sponsored by the Office of the High Commission on Human Rights in Liberia. Topics discussed at the meeting included the statuses of bills such as the  Whistle Blower Act; Witness Blower Act; Prepositions for Referendum; Age at Marriage Act; etc.

I was one the panelists that discussed these issues. Others included representatives of these institutions, including Cllrs.  Boakai Kanneh, Felicia Coleman & Ruth Jappah of the Law Reform Commission; Cllr. Gloria’s Musu Scott of AFELL; Cllr. Othello of LACC; Atty. Batholomieu Kollie of INCHR, among others. Others high profile contributors included Hon. Afa Kokolo Jones of Margibi County and Hon. Teeko Tozay Yorlay, Technical Consultant at the Ministry of Gender.
